Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of officiant are you?

I am non-traditional and non-denominational which means we can leave in or take out anything you want. My approach to the entire process is that this is your ceremony, not my ceremony

How non-traditional can we get?

If you want friends to get up and give readings, if you want Uncle Bob to sing a song, if you want to come in on a pony and I give the ceremony talking like a pirate? I am good with it!

How do you make the ceremonies custom for our wedding?

The process for drafting the ceremony: I send you a rough draft of the ceremony and there are a couple of suggestions about how to introduce yourselves as a couple like giving the history of the two of you (eg. where you met, how long you’ve been dating, some milestones in the relationship) or perhaps (3) things you love about the other person (eg. they make you laugh on a hard day, they put away the dishes while they’re making coffee in the morning). Once you send that back, I review it for flow and make any adjustments. I’ll then send it back to you for final approval!

What happens day-of the wedding?

I arrive about ~1 hour before the ceremony. I find the bride to get the paperwork and go over the ring exchange. I then go find the groom to review the same.

We enjoy the vibe of the of the special day until it’s time for the ceremony!

After the ceremony, we take a picture together. That same day I take the paperwork to the post office, fill it out and pop it in the mail. I will text you when it’s done!

What if we just want to get married without the big ta-da ceremony?

Great question! This is what I call a “Tabletop Service” where we meet at a location that is convenient or special for you. I come prepared with the paperwork to keep it short-and-sweet. These are perfect for elopements, legal matters, emergency situations, or last-minute travel

Can you help us with the paperwork so a friend/family member can perform the ceremony?

Absolutely! In that case we would do a Tabeltop Service (a no-frills signing of the paperwork) before the big day so that’s in order and you can have whoever you want officiate day-of!

How is the fee determined?

The fee is a flat-rate determined by distance, rehearsals, and ceremony type (Full Service or Tabletop).

What does “I LOVE WEDDING DAY!” mean?

Even after all these years, I still love wedding day. I once posted on my Instagram a selfie with the bride and groom with the caption “I LOVE WEDDING DAY!” and I’ve posted one from every wedding ever since.
